DeXa Side Gating Technology Delivers Precision Process Control for Demanding Medical and High-Cavitation Applications
FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany, 12 October 2026 – Mold-Masters® (www.moldmasters.com) is pleased to announce its new DeXa® side gate solution received the inaugural FAKUMA Innovation Award 2026 in the injection molding category. Designed to overcome the challenges associated with high-cavity side gating, DeXa’s advanced solution optimizes part quality through precision process control.

DeXa features individual precision tip heat control which enables cavity-specific process optimization and balance adjustments to improve part quality without affecting neighboring cavities. By comparison, conventional side gate systems use group temperature control methods, meaning there is only one temperature zone for a group of parts (up to 8). Therefore, adjusting processing temperatures to improve the quality of a single part affects multiple parts. The Fakuma Innovation award was presented by organizer, Schall Messen, and trade publication, K-ZEITUNG, during a special ceremony at the Fakuma International Trade Fair for Plastics Processing. The new award program recognizes groundbreaking technological advancements in the plastics industry.
